SBB Cargo International has completed a test round trip transporting kerosene between the Port of Antwerp and Munich for rail forwarder railnow.

The empty outbound leg ran from Munich Freiham to Antwerp Groenland with a trailing load of 500 tonnes. The return service carried 1,700 tonnes from Antwerp to Munich Nord marshalling yard.

According to the company, the empty positioning run operated as planned. An infrastructure disruption caused a slight delay on the loaded return leg, but the test operation was completed.

Railnow is a new customer of SBB Cargo International. The Antwerp–Bavaria axis adds to the operator’s cross-border freight activities linking the Benelux ports with southern Germany.
